A man who sold apparel bearing New York City trademarks altered with cannabis references must stop during the course of the city’s litigation, a New York federal court said.
The city established its trademark suit would likely succeed against Robert G. Lopez, who has filed a motion to dismiss but not a response to the city’s motion for a preliminary injunction, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said.
Injunctions largely hinge on whether the party requesting one would be irreparably harmed without it, the court said.
