State Farm, Amazon Settle Patent Suit Over Alexa Eldercare Tech

State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. and Amazon.com Inc. dropped a patent-infringement lawsuit over eldercare technologies allegedly used in Alexa-enabled devices, ending the insurer’s first-ever patent case.

Magistrate Judge Christopher J. Burke approved the deal in an order issued Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. The agreement blocks both sides from renewing allegations.
