Stanley Cup Stein Maker Settles With NHL for Over $300,000

A company whose Stanley Cup-shaped beer stein allegedly infringes the National Hockey League’s trademarks will pay the NHL over $300,000 to settle the case, the Southern District of New York said April 12.

The Hockey Cup LLC will also permanently stop making and selling the stein, disclaim the stein’s design patent, and abandon its stein-related trademark and design patent applications, the consent decree says.
