Stanford University, the University of Michigan, and two other colleges were hit with a copyright lawsuit from a car image library studio accusing them of creating a dataset housing its pictures without permission.
Departments at Stanford, Michigan, Rice University, and Baylor College of Medicine used Evox Productions LLC’s pictures of cars to build separate computer programs, according to the complaint filed Dec. 31 in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
