A Los Angeles federal court has sanctioned comic book artist Stan Lee’s daughter $1 million, saying a dispute over the ownership of his intellectual property rights has long been resolved and an improper motive drove her to file her case.
The main issue in the case has been litigated at least five other times, and JC Lee brought “sensational and inflammatory” allegations against POW! Entertainment Inc. to create negative publicity, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California said Thursday.
