Stability AI Says Getty Images’s UK Copyright Suit Is Hopeless

Stability AI Ltd. has asked a London judge to throw out a lawsuit from Getty Images Holdings Inc. that alleges the artificial intelligence software illegally copied vast swathes of its photos, in one of the first UK cases to delve into issues around the booming technology.

Lawyers for Stability AI, which owns image generator Stable Diffusion, argued in court on Tuesday that the alleged copyright infringement took place in the US and cannot have infringed on UK rights.
