Squishmallow-Maker Ends Trade Dress Suit Against Build-A-Bear

Toy-maker Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. reached an agreement with the makers of Squishmallows toys to end a lawsuit alleging trade dress infringement over its line of Skoosherz plushes.

Jazwares LLC, which acquired a majority stake in Squishmallow-inventor Kelly Toys Holdings LLC, agreed to drop its allegations that Build-A-Bear mimicked its distinctive plush toys, according to a joint stipulation of dismissal filed Aug. 22 in the US District Court for the Central District of California.

Details on any agreement weren’t immediately available and the parties’ counsel didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
