Spotify Agent Faces Charge It Helped Infringe Eminem Copyrights

Spotify USA Inc. agent the Harry Fox Agency LLC must face allegations by Eminem’s music publisher that it contributed to infringement of copyrights linked to billions of unlicensed streams of the rapper’s songs , according to a federal judge in Nashville.

HFA, an industry mainstay that disburses royalties, had asked the court to dismiss the amended complaint’s two counts against it—one for contributory infringement and one for vicarious infringement.
