Sports Novelty Firm Sued Over Knockoff ‘Beer Bat’ Drinking Cup

The Beverage Bat, a drinking vessel in the shape of a baseball bat made by Coopersburg Sports and sold at major- and minor-league baseball games, is the target of a Pennsylvania federal lawsuit alleging the souvenirs “are virtually identical in appearance” to Samiam Group LLC’s patented Beer Bat.

Samiam, based in Hartford, Conn., seeks damages including all profits and revenue that Coopersburg, officially named Coopersburg Associates Inc., has derived from the alleged infringement, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
