Women’s shapewear maker Spanx LLC sued Honeylove Sculptwear Inc., accusing the company of infringing Spanx’s patents since its inception in 2018.
Honeylove infringed three design patents and three utility patents for its products like bodysuits and shorts, according to the complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
“Honeylove did not spend the time and expense and years of research and development to create original products,” the complaint said, adding that Spanx has lost customers and market share to Honeylove.
