Sonos Win Over Google Wireless Sensor Patent Affirmed on Appeal

An administrative patent tribunal correctly canceled challenged claims in a Google LLC wireless sensor patent as obvious and unpatentable, a federal appeals court affirmed.

The Patent Tribal and Appeal Board’s findings were supported by evidence, and the board’s decision to rule in Sonos Inc.’s favor and cancel claims in US Patent No. 10,229,586 was correct, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled Thursday in a nonprecedential opinion.
