Sonos Knocks Out Google Smart Speaker Patent Claims at Tribunal

Sonos Inc. convinced an administrative tribunal to cancel all challenged claims of a Google LLC smart speaker patent that’s part of the sprawling dispute between the two companies.

The Patent Trial and Appeal Board ruled that all challenged claims of US Patent No. 9,812,128 are unpatentable in light of a previously issued patent and patent application. The ‘128 patent relates to coordinating voice interface systems among multiple devices according to the March 15 PTAB final written decision.
