Snap, Zenly Unit Fail to Evade Rival’s Trade-Secret Theft Claims

Snap and its Zenly unit should have to face a rival app-maker’s claims that they stole trade secrets when Zenly employees covertly signed up for a beta test of YouMap, a federal magistrate judge said.

  • Court should dismiss YouMap’s claim that Snap interfered with a contractual relationship, but the same claim against Zenly should survive, Magistrate Judge Jennifer Hall said in a recommendation issued Tuesday in federal court in Wilmington, Delaware
    • Hall said YouMap should be required “to identify in detail each trade secret” before it’s allowed to obtain discovery of any confidential information
