Smucker Accuses Trader Joe’s of Copying Uncrustables Product

The J.M. Smucker Co. accused Trader Joe’s Co. of copying its Uncrustables sandwich design and packaging in a trademark lawsuit filed Monday.

The maker of the frozen, pie-like peanut butter and jelly product accused the grocery chain of trading off the “fame and recognition of the Uncrustable design marks” with a back-to-school sandwich product that hit the shelves this summer, according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
