Siemens Wins a Pause of Patent Case Tied to NYC Subway Contract

A federal judge in New York paused Metrom Rail LLC’s patent infringement suit against Siemens Mobility Inc. and Humatics Corp. arising out of Metrom’s failed bid to win a New York City Transit Authority contract.

Illinois-based Metrom sued Siemens, Humatics, and two other companies in April 2023 over alleged copying of patented train collision-avoidance technology. Included in its complaint was a claim of tortious interference against Siemens, one of the ultimate winners of the authority’s contract to build an ultra wide band radio protocol.
