Siemens’ Bytemark Sues Masabi Over Patents for Mobile Ticketing

Siemens AG’s Bytemark filed a lawsuit alleging that Masabi Ltd.'s mobile ticketing systems sold to mass-transit groups in Boston and Nassau County, N.Y., infringe two patents for Bytemark’s V3 ticketing technology, whose users include organizations in New York City, Austin, and Houston.

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, the Nassau Inter-County Express, VIA Metropolitan Transit in San Antonio, and Woodlands Express Park and Ride Bus in Texas bought visual validation applications and systems from U.K.-based Masabi, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
