Shkreli Fails to Add Wu-Tang Rappers to Investors’ Album Suit

A judge shot down convicted fund manager Martin Shkreli’s attempt to add two Wu-Tang Clan rappers to a lawsuit from investors alleging he illegally copied and distributed the group’s one-of-a-kind album.

Shkreli’s motion to include rappers Robert “RZA” Diggs and Tarik “Cilvaringz” Azzourgarh—who sold Shkreli the album—in the lawsuit is “astonishingly devoid of support,” Judge Pamela K. Chen said. Shkreli failed to show how their exclusion from the legal dispute would impair the original rightsholders’ ability to protect their interests, according to a text-only order filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
