The US prong of the global legal battle between Britain’s Dyson Inc. and Boston-based SharkNinja Operating LLC split into two tracks Friday, separating infringement claims over American patents for high-end hair styling wands and cordless vacuum cleaners.
Judge Allison D. Burroughs of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts granted Dyson’s motion to split off SharkNinja’s US vacuum-cleaner patent infringement claims from copycat allegations the British home-appliance manufacturer raised against SharkNinja’s FlexStyle hair-care wand.
