Seoul Semiconductor Sues LED Tech Companies Over Chip Patents (1)

Seoul Semiconductor Co. Ltd. has accused two companies of infringing its patented semiconductor light emitting device technology.

Healthe Inc. and VividGro Inc.'s lighting systems infringe its LED chip technology patents, Seoul Semiconductor alleged Nov. 29 in two separate complaints filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Defendants in such lawsuits can face high litigation costs and sometimes years-long legal battles, which can hurt sales of the products and services at the heart of the infringement claims.
