Scientist Stole Secrets During Week Working at Rival, Suit Says

Drug developer Transpire Bio Inc. accused Lupin Inc., of benefiting from stolen trade secrets after a Lupin scientist quit, joined Transpire for a week and a half, and returned to Lupin with confidential information.

Ali Nokhodchi accessed trade secrets regarding Transpire’s development of a generic version of GSK Plc‘s multi-billion dollar asthma treatment franchise Ellipta, the Monday complaint in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida said. Transpire had been the only company to develop a bioequivalent to the Breo Ellipta drug in the Ellipta family, through “years of painstaking research and development,” the company said. ...
