Sandoz’s Award Cut to $71 Million in Generic-Remodulin UTC Case

United Therapeutics Corp. must pay Sandoz Inc. $70.6 million in lost profits and interest for wrongly restricting access to the injection cartridges needed for generic versions of the lung-pressure drug Remodulin, according to a New Jersey federal court’s judgment.

Judge Brian R. Martinotti, in an order issued Nov. 1 in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey, awarded Sandoz $61.6 million and prejudgment interest of nearly $9 million. He also ordered UTC to pay Sandoz interest on the judgment under Federal Reserve rates from Nov. 1 “until its satisfaction.”
