San Francisco asked a federal court to prohibit its eastern neighbor from using the “San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport” name after, so far, failing to settle a suit accusing the City of Oakland of infringing the “San Francisco International Airport” trademark.
Consumers have already confused the airports since Oakland approved its airport’s new moniker in May, San Francisco said Tuesday in a preliminary injunction motion filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
