Samsung’s Mobile Device Tech Win Partially Overturned

Samsung Electronics Inc. will have to try again to beat some patent infringement allegations over mobile phone camera hardware and image software, after the Federal Circuit sent a case back to the trial court.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California erred in its construction of two patent terms that led to judgments that Samsung didn’t infringe, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit held. But the appeals court affirmed a judgment of noninfringement of other claims.
