Samsung’s Evidence Push Spurs IP Law Firm Move to Quash Subpoena

Samsung Electronics Co.’s effort to gather evidence that PV Law LLP and a Chinese litigation funder used its confidential information for a patent-infringement campaign “is a blatant attempt to invade” attorney-client privilege and should be rejected, the law firm told a federal court.

Complying with the document subpoena would require PV Law’s small team to spend “hundreds and hundreds of hours” reviewing mostly privileged documents, according to a motion to quash filed Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
