Samsung, Techiya Agree to Bench Trial on ‘Unclean Hands’ Defense

Misconduct allegations against two former Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. attorneys will likely be handled separately from the patent infringement lawsuit in which they originated, which accuses the electronics giant of incorporating protected technology in its Galaxy smartphones, earbuds, and personal assistant application.

Samsung and Staton Techiya LLC agreed to six conditions for a bench trial on the question whether Techiya’s lawsuit is barred for having “unclean hands,” according to a minute entry for a telephone conference filed Monday in US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
