Samsung Takes Down Parts of Medical Imaging Patent at Board

Samsung Electronics Co. convinced the Patent Trial and Appeal Board that parts of Cellect LLC’s reduced imaging technology patent are invalid in an ongoing feud between the companies.

Cellect’s U.S. Patent No. 9,198,565, on an imaging device for use in medical instruments such as endoscopes, is obvious in light of two prior imaging patents, the board said in a final written decision.
