Samsung Sued for Patent Damages Over Galaxy-Branded Smartphones

Samsung Electronics Co. was hit with a patent-infringement lawsuit in a Texas federal court that seeks damages from sales of its Galaxy-branded devices including the Fold and S22 consumer smartphones, and from sales of three products in its XCover series of rugged business smartphones.

Emergent Mobile LLC filed the complaint on April 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging that certain Samsung Galaxy devices infringe as many as two of three patents.
