Samsung Patent Claims on Cameras to Be Probed at Trade Agency

The International Trade Commission has launched an investigation into claims that cameras on Samsung electronic devices infringe patents and use stolen secrets owned by closely held Pictos Technologies, according to a notice on the agency’s website.

  • Pictos, formerly known as Imperium IP, claims Samsung gained access to its technology for fine-tuning images in digital cameras but refuses to license the patents or know-how
