Samsung Owes $445 Million in Patent Infringement Verdict (1)

Samsung Electronics Co. owes Collision Communications Inc. $445.5 million for infringing patents by creating and selling Galaxy products utilizing 4G, 5G and Wi-Fi technology.

Samsung’s products willfully infringed four patents, according to a jury’s verdict filed Friday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The jury determined Samsung didn’t prove the patents were invalid.

Collision sued Samsung in December 2023, alleging infringement. It dropped some patents from the suit before the trial, leaving just US Patent Nos. 7,463,703, 7,920,651, 7,593,492, and 6,947,505 for the jury.
