Samsung Loses $62.7M Jury Verdict Over Display Panel Patents

Samsung Galaxy and Galaxy Note smartphones with flexible touch sensors infringe two patents owned by licensing firm Solas OLED and should pay a total of $62.7 million in damages, a federal jury in Marshall, Texas, said.

  • Samsung Electronics and its Samsung Display, were accused of infringing one patent for flexible organic light-emitting diodes that have a touch sensor layered on top and two patents for the architecture and circuit design of display panels
