Samsung, LG Secure Dismissals of Geolocation Patent Lawsuits

A federal judge dismissed a pair of patent suits accusing Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc. of infringing with geolocation capabilities in the companies’ smarphone products.

Judge Vince Chhabria of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said the reissue patent asserted by Ikorongo Texas LLC and underpinning its case against the South Korean companies failed to “comply with the original patent requirement.”
