Samsung Hit With Patent Suit Over Galaxy Wireless Headphones

IP Buds LLC alleged Samsung Electronics America Inc. infringed its invention of wireless charging technology through the sale of Galaxy wireless headsets after refusing to license the technology.

Samsung allegedly stopped communicating with IP Buds during negotiations to buy a license for US Patent No. 9,467,763, according to a complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

IP Buds said its owner Jason D. Beal contacted Samsung in 2014 about his “power sharing invention.” Samsung introduced its Galaxy 10 handsets and wireless headset products using similar technology in 2019, according to the complaint. ...
