Samsung Devices Infringe Data Security Technology, Lawsuit Says

A patent licensing company sued Samsung Electronics Co. and its subsidiary Samsung Electronics America Inc. for allegedly infringing its sensor security technology in Galaxy phones, tablets, TVs, watches and appliances.

Nusantao IP LLC alleges Samsung’s Knox Vault security platform infringes two patents across its product lines, according to the complaint filed Nov. 29 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The Wyoming-based company owns US Patent Nos. 11,095,613 and 11,640,546, which cover technology that encrypts sensor data and controls how applications access that information, according to the complaint.
