Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd failed to win an early exit from an upcoming patent infringement trial over virtual assistant-enabled smartphones and earphones that respond to spoken commands, according to a Texas federal court order posted Tuesday.
The South Korean electronics giant asked for pre-trial rulings that its products don’t infringe three of the 14 patents Staton Techiya LLC and Synergy IP Corp. accused it of violating in a 2021 complaint in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
