Samsung, Demaray Resolve Chip-Making Patent Dispute Post-Trial

Samsung Electronics Co. resolved its legal dispute with Demaray LLC over semiconductor patents following the electronics giant’s trial win in the case.

The companies agreed to dismiss the dispute’s remaining questions, including over costs, according to a joint brief filed Jan. 23 in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. Demaray and Samsung said each party will bear its own costs and fees.

Demaray sued Samsung in July 2020, alleging the electronics giant infringed its patents by supplying reactor components to Samsung’s manufacturing facilities and selling products using similar methods as Demaray’s technology.
