The Federal Circuit backed an administrative tribunal’s invalidation of two patents asserted against Samsung Electronics Co. and Dell Technologies Inc. by a Seychelles-based company.
The Patent and Trial Appeal Board correctly voided each claim in MyPAQ Holding Ltd.'s US Patent Nos. 8,477,514 and 7,675,759on anticipation and obviousness grounds, Judge Leonard P. Stark wrote for the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in a Thursday opinion. The patents cover power converters that change voltage input and output.
