Samsung Beats CogniPower Allegations Over InnoSwitch3 Chips

Samsung Electronics Co. beat CogniPower LLC’s patent infringement allegations over chargers incorporating chips made by manufacturer Power Integrations Inc.

Judge Rodney Gilstrap dismissed CogniPower’s claims concerning Power Integration’s InnoSwitch3 chips, according to an order filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Gilstrap adopted a magistrate judge’s report that found the accused products don’t match the patents’ claim limitations.

Gilstrap denied ruling on the patents’ validity.

CogniPower sued Samsung in April 2023, alleging it infringed US Patent Nos. RE47,031 and RE47,713 and other patents protecting methods for power converters.
