Samsung Accused of Using 5G Technology it Refused to License

Samsung Electronics Co. and two US subsidiaries were accused by Asus Technology Licensing Inc. of incorporating standard-essential 4G and 5G telecommunications technology developed by AsusteK Computer Inc. into a broad array of mobile wireless devices without paying to license the the patents.

Samsung rejected Asus’ offer of a global license to its essential advanced wireless technology, made in a series of communications over an 18-month period that began in January 2022, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
