Apparel company Salt Life LLC accused drug and alcohol addiction treatment company Salt Life Sober Living LLC of capitalizing on its brand’s goodwill in a trademark lawsuit filed in Florida federal court Tuesday.
The Palm Coast, Fla., facility knew of Salt Life’s trademarks and intentionally infringed, damaging the Georgia-based company, according to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida complaint.
Salt Life, whose trademarks extend to clothing, gear, beer, and restaurant services, also claimed the treatment center’s use constituted trademark dilution because its marks are legally famous.
