Salesforce Seeks Sanctions Against WSOU for Copy-Paste Complaint

WSOU Investments LLC made a big mistake in one of the 10 patent lawsuits it filed against Salesforce.com Inc. in one day in late 2020, according to a sanctions motion filed by the software company.

Salesforce alleged in a June 21 motion, unsealed Tuesday, that the patent-assertion entity copied and pasted large chunks of material from a complaint involving a patent covering the tracking of location data into a complaint in which WSOU asserted infringement of a separate patent covering caller-ID technology—US Patent No. 7,551,731.
