Russian TV Infringed Broadcaster’s Copyright with U.S. Streaming

Russian TV Co. Inc. broadcasters streamed television shows in the U.S. without permission, a New York federal court said.

The website Russian TV infringed on Russian programmer Channel One’s content by providing unauthorized access to its broadcasts, U.S. District Court Judge Lorna G. Schofield wrote in an order for the Southern District of New York. Channel One provided enough evidence of Russian TV’s infringement, Schoefield wrote.

Schofield referred the calculation of damages, attorneys’ fees, and costs to Magistrate Judge Barbara Moses.
