RSB Spine LLC sued medical device maker Innovasis Inc. as a part of its patent-assertion campaign to protect its spinal implant technology.
Innovasis refused to enter a licensing deal with RSB over US Patent No. 9,713,537 related to its intervertebral body fusion device, according to a complaintfiled Wednesday in the US District Court for the District of Utah. The device is used to treat degenerative disc disease, RSB said.
