Rose Bowl Group Sues Pasadena Over Trademark, Hosting Rights

The City of Pasadena has falsely claimed trademark rights in the Rose Bowl, the storied college football game’s host said in a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles federal court.

The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association also asked the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Thursday to clarify that it doesn’t need the city’s permission to host the Rose Bowl outside of Pasadena in case of a “force majeure” event outside of their control, like the Covid-19 pandemic.
