Roku Ad-Targeting Tech Trial Moved To California From Texas (1)

A Texas judge shifted Anonymous Media Research Holdings LLC’s lawsuit against Roku Inc. to federal court in Silicon Valley after deciding that’s a “clearly more convenient” location to try allegations that Roku infringed patented media-monitoring technology.

“Three factors—the relative ease of access to proof, the cost of attendance, and the local interest—all weigh strongly in favor of transfer,” Austin-based Judge Robert Pitman said in a July 10 order transferring the case out of the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. The transfer to the Northern District of California took effect July 15, according to court records.
