Roche Holding AG’s Chugai unit has settled a lawsuit with AstraZeneca PLC’s Alexion Pharmaceuticals, whose Ultomiris treatment for rare, fatal blood diseases Chugai had accused of infringing two patents, according to a request approved Tuesday to pause proceedings while the companies finalize a settlement.
Judge Maryellen Noreika issued an order staying the case pending settlement, according to an entry posted to the electronic docket in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. Chugai made the request in a sealed joint stipulation and proposed order on Monday, when a five-day jury trial had been scheduled to begin.
