Part of Roblox Corp.'s copyright claims over alleged avatar rip-offs from the online game platform involve enough disputed facts to go to trial, a California federal court said.
Hong Kong-based WowWee Ltd. established that its allegedly infringing “MyAvstars” dolls and metaverse code didn’t contain any protectable elements of generic Roblox avatar bases, according to a ruling by the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
