Riot Games Says League of Legends Knock-Off Violates Rights (1)

Online game developer Riot Games Inc. hit mobile game developer Imba Network LLC and parent company Suga PTE Ltd. with a suit alleging they are infringing its copyrights by developing and releasing a knock-off version of its League of Legends game.

The suit, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, alleges that Imba, a company based in Vietnam but with affiliates, offices, and employees in California and Delaware, released its LoL copycat version, titled “I Am Hero: AFK Tactical Teamfight,” in 2020 through the Google Play and Apple App Stores.
