Riot Games’ ‘League of Legends’ Copyright Suit Tossed Again (1)

Riot Games Inc.'s copyright lawsuit against a ByteDance Inc. subsidiary over the massively popular video game “League of Legends” was dismissed for a second time by a Los Angeles federal judge who said the dispute should be resolved in China.

Riot is owned by the Chinese tech conglomerate Tencent Holdings Ltd., and would “seemingly like to harness the discovery mechanisms in the U.S. judicial system” to reach a favorable outcome, Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald wrote for the US District Court for the Central District of California.
