Rick Scott Goes After ‘Scam PAC’ Appropriating Name and Likeness

The National Republican Senatorial Committee sued a “scam” political action committee dubbed Red Senate and its partner Wavecrest Multimedia Communications LLC on behalf of Florida Senator Rick Scott, accusing them of appropriating the Congressman’s name, image, and likeness.

California-based entities Red Senate and Wavecrest used Scott’s likeness “to deceive donors into thinking they are donating to a super PAC that will use their contributions to help Republican senators win, but instead does little or nothing to support the candidates,” according to the complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
