Reynolds to Pay Altria $95 Million in Vape Patent Verdict (1)

Altria Group Inc. is entitled to $95 million from Reynolds Vapor Co. for infringing a trio of vape pod patents with its Vuse Alto e-cigarette, a North Carolina jury decided late Wednesday afternoon.

The seven-day trial hinged on whether Reynolds Vapor, owned by British American Tobacco, violated three of Altria’s patents and should pay damages—and the 10-person jury decided against Reynolds after about three hours of deliberations.
